In 2018, visionary initiatives were launched to reimagine and revitalize the Keppel Harbour waterfront district, situated north of Kanford Town, along with its surrounding islands, with the ambitious goal of transforming the area into a dynamic and flourishing metropolis. The resulting development, officially named Keppel Bay, reflects a commitment to creating a vibrant urban landscape that integrates modern infrastructure, sustainable design, and diverse amenities, embodying a transformative vision for the region.

The town is primarily connected by a robust bus network, serving areas like Kanford Town, Kanford Beach, and Keppel Airport. Majority of the bus services serve Keppel Bay Bus Interchange which is located along Keppel Central.
In 2023, RMRT Buses was awarded the bus operating package for the Keppel District and began operations from 02 Dec 2023.
